General Information

The Journal of Technology Education and Applied Sciences (JTEAS) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED). These include Vocational and Technical Education, focusing on instructional strategies, curriculum innovation, and workforce readiness; Applied Sciences, emphasising the practical use of scientific knowledge to address real-world challenges; and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), highlighting creative approaches in teaching, learning, and applying STEM principles. The journal also embraces research in the Natural Sciences, encouraging interdisciplinary explorations of the natural world and its phenomena with an applied orientation.

The primary criteria for publication are originality, scholarly contribution, and relevance to advancing knowledge in the fields of technology and applied sciences.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Formatting Guidelines

1. Title Page

Title: (Bold, 12pt, Centered) Times New Roman, descriptive and concise.
- Authors (Bold, 12pt, Centered): First name-Last name order. (e.g.,  Frederick Kwaku Sarfo; Isaac Boateng; Humphrey Danso; Christopher Mfum Owusu-Ansah, Yarhands Dissou Arthur; Faith Ben-Daniels etc).
Affiliations (12pt, Left Aligned): Institutional details (e.g., Department, AAMUSTED, Kumasi, Ghana). Use superscripts for different addresses.

Corresponding Author (12pt, Centred): Marked with an asterisk (*) and an active e-mail address provided. All authors are required to register and obtain an ORCID iD via https://orcid.org/signin. The ORCID iD must be placed immediately after the names of the authors.

Acknowledgements

This includes contributors who assisted but do not qualify as authors, including grants and funding agencies, data analysts and mentors. This information will eventually be included in the main manuscript following successful review of the paper.

Author Contributions

The Authors’ Contributions section specifies the exact contributions of each author using CRediT taxonomy to list author contributions under the following headings (a downloadable summary of the CRediT roles is available here): www.niso.org/publications/z39104-2022-credit. See below for JTEAS's formatting/wording preferences for author contributions:

  • The section should be titled “Authors’ Contributions”
  • In the manuscript, it appears after the Acknowledgements section and before the Conflicts of Interest section.
  • Only author initials are used (without titles or degrees). Style the initials exactly as the name appears in the metadata. See the examples below:

          Conceptualisation: AB (lead), CD (equal)

Data analysis: AB (lead), EF (supporting)

          Methodology: CD

Running Head

Include a Running Head not exceeding 50 characters.

Note: To achieve the policy of double-blind peer review of JTEAS, the title page file must be on a separate page and named “title_page_Last Name of Corresponding author”. Authors' information must not appear anywhere on the manuscript page.

2. Abstract

- Maximum 250 words.
- Should state the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Use italics for the abstract text.

3. Keywords

Provide a maximum of five (5) separated by semi-columns (;). e.g.: Technology; applications; adoption; innovation; Vocational education

(refer to https://apastyle.apa.org/instructional-aids/abstract-keywords-guide.pdf for guidance).

4. Introduction

Provide background, research objectives, and justification for the study, including a concise review of relevant literature (Danso, 2025).

- Avoid numbering the sections and sub-sections.

5. Methodology

- Describe the research design, participants, tools, procedures, and analysis.
- Include sufficient detail for replication.
- State software or tools used for data analysis.

6. Results and Discussion

Present key findings using text, tables, and figures. Explicitly reference each table and figure using their assigned number (e.g., “As shown in Table 1,” “Figure 3 illustrates the correlation between variables”) at the point where the data or visual is most relevant to your discussion. Avoid vague references (e.g., “see the table below” or “the figure on the next page”). Also discuss the results in the light of the literature and draw relevant implications for theory/practice etc.

Note: Insert tables/figures in the text where they are discussed.

     6.1 Equations and Formulas

Use standard mathematical typesetting tools compatible with academic publishing (e.g., Microsoft Word’s Equation Editor, MathType) to create editable equations—static images (e.g., JPEG, PNG) of formulas are not accepted. Ensure equations are formatted consistently. Inline equations (short formulas integrated into text, e.g., X= frac(X - 2X) do not require numbering

Gender

60 (55%) Male, 49 (45%) Female

Age Range

20–25 years

       6.2 Figure and Images
Minimum resolution 300 dpi (dots per inch). Avoid low-resolution images that appear blurry or pixelated. Use high-quality raster formats (TIFF, PNG; avoid JPEG for critical images due to compression artefacts).

Figures must follow the APA 7th edition with captions below

7. Conclusions

Identify key conclusions, implications, and suggestions for further research.

8. Conflict of Interest and AI Use Declaration

Conflict of Interest
Declare any financial or institutional conflicts.

AI Use Declaration

To promote transparency, authors must include a brief disclosure statement in their manuscripts if any AI tools were used in the paper.

Note: The statement should appear just before the reference section.

If AI tools were used,

AI Disclosure Statement
The author(s) used [name of AI tool, e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.] for [state purpose, e.g., language editing, grammar correction, or improving readability]. The author(s) reviewed and take full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the final content.

If no AI tools were used,

AI Disclosure Statement

No Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.

Numbering of Sections and Headings

Refrain from numbering the various sections and headings in the work. For instance, the Sections: “Introduction”, “Literature review” etc must NOT be numbered in a manner as:

“1. Introduction”

 “2. Literature review”

Pagination

The manuscript (without the title page) should be numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3 etc) on the footer (bottom left)

Use of Latin Words and Phrases

Italicise Latin terms (e.g., et al., in situ, in vivo, per se). Common abbreviations such as etc., viz., and e.g. should not be italicised.

Numbers

Generally, sentences do not start with numerals. Spell out numbers below 10; use numerals for 10 and above. Use numerals when followed by units (e.g., 200 g, 30 cm).

Units of Measurement

The metric (SI) system is used in JTEAS.

Peer Review

- All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.

- Authors may be required to revise manuscripts based on reviewer feedback before acceptance.

Proofs

- Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author.

- Only minor corrections are permitted at this stage.

Originality

JTEAS adheres to the guidelines for ethical research by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors must ensure that manuscripts are their original work. The Journal will use a Plagiarism Detection Software to determine the originality of submissions. Plagiarism will lead to rejection. Similarly, the undisclosed and overuse of generative AI will subject the manuscript to potential rejection.

Ethical consent

Authors are required to provide evidence of ethical approval where applicable.

Manuscript Length

Manuscripts must be between 4,000–9,000 words, including tables and figures.
